About Us

We are a Dallas based food manufacturing company making whole pasta meals for the lunch you forgot to pack and the dinner you're too tired to make. Add water, microwave, eat. Made by us, from ingredients you already know.

Era exists because of two very annoying problems.

11:52 AM

The office lunch.

You need something hot, now, and you didn't meal-prep on Sunday. Delivery means fees, a tip, and forty minutes of waiting. The break room has a microwave and a sink. That should be enough.

11:40 PM

The empty fridge.

The stores are closed. The fridge has condiments. You are hungry in a way cereal will not fix. There should be something real in the pantry for exactly this.

High Andes, Peru

The answer was miles from the nearest town.

Backpacking the high Andes of Peru and the volcanoes of Mexico, the reward at the end of a long day was always the same: boil water, pour it in, and eat a hot meal out of the bag. Light to carry, nothing to keep cold, nothing to wash.

One day the obvious question landed. Why is that kind of convenience reserved for the outdoors? The office break room and the 11 PM kitchen need it more.

So we spent the next stretch of time figuring out how to make those meals taste like actual dinner, and how to make them for everyday life instead of expeditions.

Era

English, noun

A stretch of time. For us, the one when food was made from plain ingredients and you didn't need a chemistry degree to read the label.

Spanish, verb

“Used to be.” As in, dinner used to be this simple.

Food like it used to be, for life the way it is now.

Four things we don't bend on.

The classics, done right

Texas is wonderfully diverse, and a few shared favorites still taste like home to almost everyone. Mac n' cheese, marinara, a creamy pasta. We make those classics, carefully, instead of chasing fusion trends.

Your schedule wins

A meal has to fit into the day you're actually having. Every recipe is hot and ready in under five minutes, in the container it came in, with nothing to wash afterward.

Read the label out loud

Flip any tray over: pasta, cream, cheddar, tomatoes, mushrooms, salt, pepper. Every recipe is built from scratch so we control what goes in. No preservatives, no artificial colors, no maltodextrin, nothing added just to look brighter on a shelf.

Priced for working people

We were raised by a working-class mom, and we make food for people who work. We won't cut ingredient quality to hit a price. We keep prices honest the harder way: by running a tight kitchen and buying smart.

Cooked in Dallas, by us, every batch.

We don't hand a recipe to a factory. Every Era meal is made in our own certified kitchen on Regal Row in Dallas. Cheddar and Colby come in as blocks and get ground here. Tomatoes get cooked down here. Cream gets reduced here. Then it's sealed into the tray you'll eat from.
